Process & Schedules

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or Commission) issued the Safe Harbor Hydroelectric Project’s current license on August 14, 1980, with an expiration date of April 22, 2030 (50-year term).

Safe Harbor Water Power Corporation is pursuing a new license from FERC for the continued operation of the Project through the Commission’s Integrated Licensing Process (ILP). The ILP provides a schedule, which includes opportunities for stakeholder engagement.

A process plan established by FERC will include the schedule and dates for the entire relicensing process up to the submittal of the Final License Application. The preliminary process plan will be provided in the forthcoming Pre-Application Document (PAD) and FERC will issue a schedule for the ILP process in the forthcoming Scoping Document for the Project relicensing. We currently anticipate that the PAD will be filled with the FERC and made publicly available in the Spring of 2025.

Please note, if the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the following business day. Early filings or issuances will not result in changes to these deadlines.
